Bookkaholic Q&A: One Book You Can’t WAIT To Read in 2014
Bookkaholic Q&A is a weekly feature where we all share our answers to a bookish question. Think of it as a conversation over coffee with friends!
“What is one book you can’t wait to read in 2014, and why?”

The Valley of Amazement by Amy Tan has been lingering on bestseller lists for the last couple of months and I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy. Known for her unique Chinese-American viewpoint, Tan’s newest novel straddles three generations of women and is set in Shanghai’s most exclusive courtesan house. The characters include the American woman who pursues a Chinese painter all the way to Shanghai, her daughter and the celebrated courtesan, Violet, and finally Violet’s daughter Flora, who unites the three women.

I’m think everyone I know at this point has delved into The Hunger Games. It is probably my turn with movies boosting the hype. I think I need to get me read on so I can say which was better, the book or the movie (even though it is always the book).

I’m excited to read E. Lockhart’s new book We Were Liars. I managed to snag a review copy of the book at a conference, and I’m enjoying the anticipation of starting it at just the right moment. Lockhart usually writes smart, funny contemporary novels (on par with John Green), but this book veers into the territory of suspense and sadness. I’ve heard nothing but good things!
So now we want to share our conversation with you! Tell us your most anticipated reads for the new year in comments!
John Green’s “The Fault in Our Stars” because I’m curious to see what all the hype’s about.
Have you read any of Green’s other novels? I’m actually a bigger fan of Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns, so i found The Fault in Our Stars to be a weaker novel (though still good). I need to read TFioS again to re-evaluate, I think!
